De Pencier Water Bag

I kicked off my 2026 Bagger season with a door-to-door water bag of De Pencier.

I dropped down to Deep Cove to touch tide water before joining the masses on the Baidan Powell to Holly Goes Lightly. From Indian River Road, I quickly gained elevation on Three Chop Trail, where I had some Buckin’ Hell flashbacks. The trails were snow-free up to ~840 metres.

Snow was supportive, but I was very happy I packed my spikes. Whoever pushed through before me looked like they had a much tougher time: their post holes were deep enough to swallow me.

After summiting, snaking, and taking some photos, I backtracked down to the lakes and cut over to Goldie to watch some of the Ski Ballet comp. After that, I crossed over to the west side of the mountain to drop down via bike trails to the Old Buck and home.
